Shikari (English: Hunter)^[3][4] is a 2016 Bangladesh-India joint venturethrillerdrama film directed by Joydip Mukherjee.^[5] Produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies banners, and stars Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan, Srabanti Chatterjee, Rahul Dev and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in pivotal roles and centers around Khan, a disguised professional assassin with mysterious past, tasked with assassinating a top government official. The film also features Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Shupriyo Dutta in supporting roles.^[6] It is an official remake of the 2009 Tamil movie Aadhavan which was itself inspired from the 1990 Malayalam movie His Highness Abdullah. A collaborative Jaaz-Eskay project involving Khan was first reported during mid 2014. However, the project was later shelved due to unavailability of actor. Due to numerous media reports, the film was originally planned to be a multi-starrer film. Eskay Movies & Jaaz Multimedia intended to begin production of the film again after revisions in the script of the film. The production was officially announced by Eskay Movies & Jaaz Multimedia in January 2016, and Zakir Hossain Simanto and Joydip Mukherjee was hired as directors. The film is produced by Ashok Dhanuka & Abdul Aziz, under the production Eskay Movies & Jaaz Multimedia. A few percent of the film and songs were shot in London, UK. Plot[edit]

Sultan (Shakib Khan) is a professional assassin who had run away from home in his childhood after being convicted of attempting to murder his father. Rahul Dev, an influential child trafficker hires Sultan to kill prominent Judge Rudro Chowdhury (Sabyasachi Chatterjee), since he is handling the inquiry and verdict on Rahul Dev's child trafficking case in Kolkata.^[7] Sultan arrives in Kolkata and attempts to murder Judge Chowdhury by sniping, but misfires due to large crowd and media around the Judge.^[12] The West Bengal police force chases after him, but ultimately fails to catch him. After Rahul Dev insults him for his inability, Sultan is angry with himself, and vows to kill Judge Chowdhury within ten days.^[13][14]

Sultan enters Judge Chowdhury's household disguising as a servant, and slowly begins to win over the members of the family.^[15]

Casting and development[edit]

The project was first announced in January 2016 with an official statement by Jaaz Multimedia.^{[21][not in citation given]}Srabanti Chatterjee was signed to play the female lead opposite Khan in the film. The film was made official in a press conference held in Dhaka on 7 March 2016, where the cast members of the film were introduced.^[22]

Filming[edit]

The shooting schedule of Shikari commenced on 14 March 2016.^[23] The first phase of the film was shot in 12-day schedule and entirely filmed in Kolkata.^[24] The second phase of the filming took place in London. The last phase of the film was filmed in Dhaka, and lasted 26-days. The entire film was shot on a 48-day schedule. During filming, the shooting was halted for 2-days in Kolkata due to strike from the production crew.^[25]

The music of the film was shot at various locations in London and Kolkata. A romantic track sequence was shot at Beachy Head in East Sussex, England while other sequences were shot at Piccadilly Circus.^{[citation needed]}

The film also released in North America and Europe on 12 August 2016.^[26]

Promotions[edit]

Promotion of Shikari began on 16 June 2016 with the release of 'Harabo Toke Niye' on YouTube.^[27] The track featured Shakib Khan, Srabanti Chatterjee and the track was shot in London.^[28] The video received an overwhelming response of YouTube, and creating record of becoming the fastest Bengali language video track to reach 1 million views.^[29] The track received praises from audiences and critics. The official teaser of the film was revealed on 18 June 2016 and instantly became the top trend online for 24 hours. Khan's new look and highly packed action sequences were highly praised.^[30][31] The film officially began promotion with a press conference on 22 June 2016, where the films' cast and crews were present.^[32]

Fidaa (lit. 'In love') is an Indian Bengaliromantic drama film, scheduled to be released on 13 July 2018, under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The film is produced by Shrikant Mohta and directed by Pathikrit Basu. It is the debut film of Sanjana Banerjee^[1] along with Yash Dasgupta in lead roles. The movie is a remake of 2018 Telugu movie Tholi Prema.^[2]

Plot[edit]

The film starts with Ishaan (Yash Dasgupta) searching frantically for his love in London, where she's missing. The film cuts to a flashback and Ishaan starts talking about how he is successful at work but his love life is a failure. The flashback starts with Ishaan beating up a fellow student during a football match. After this he runs away with his friends and decides to leave the place. He is on the train and that's where he meets Khushi (Sanjana Banerjee )who saves him from meeting with a deadly accident. He instantly falls in love with her and does many tactics to win her heart. Khushi is a very reserved girl while Ishaan is outgoing. Ishaan proposes to Khushi and he expected an answer by the morning where the journey ends, but to his surprise when he woke up, Khushi was nowhere to be found.

Ishaan joins college and about 3 months have passed and he has no idea where Khushi is. To his surprise, he finds Khushi and she tells him that she enrolled in his college just for him by paying a lot of money. Khushi gives a lot of signs that she is in love with him but she doesn't say those 3 words to Ishaan which he tries extremely hard for.

Their love blossoms and eventually they break up because of Ishaan's impulsive nature. Six years have passed and Ishaan is a successful student, topping his college, but is unable to forget Khushi. Khushi and Ishaan both meet up in his workplace and at first, Ishaan hates her while Khushi yearns for his attention. Slowly, they both become friends and yet Ishaan does not admit that he is still in love with her and hurts Khushi.

They both get into a fight and Khushi gives him back the things Ishaan gave her 6 years ago when they were in a relationship. He opens the box and finds out that she kept the love he gave her and the hate he gave her and realizes that she only decided to come back Ishaan's life after 6 years because she still loves him. He realizes that he still loves her and runs back to find her only to realize that Khushi is gone. He runs and he finally finds her in a train station and he proposes to her. The story ends with both embracing with a kiss.

The official poster of the film was released on 26 March 2018.^[7] In this first look poster of the film Sanjana Banerjee's face was not been shown properly. So critics and audiences were having queries about the female character, that has a role of gaining Fidaa's popularity.After launching the trailer of this film on 7 June 2018, it was confirmed that the lead actress is debutant Sanjana Banerjee here.The movie was originally slated for an Eid release on June 15, but to avoid major box-office clash, the makers have postponed the release date to July 13.^[8]
